Christian Backus, Class of ’11, prepares for PSU Season

Christian Backus graduated from Belmont High in the spring of 2011. He played 4 years with BRFC and is now a freshman at Penn State. His experiences playing there have been tremendous.

Backus has seen action with the PSU 1st XV’s a handful of times in the fall and is preparing for the Collegiate Division 1-A conference schedule this spring.

The off-season indoor trainings include 6am conditionings Monday & Fridays, late night training sessions – sometimes as late as 10pm – and mandatory weight lifting sessions throughout the week.

Penn State prepares for the CPL season with a tour to Las Vegas and the West where they will play 2011 CPL runner-up and perennial powerhouse Brigham Young as well as Arizona State.

The pre-season doesn’t get any easier with matches against Old Blue, a men’s team from New York, and then the regular season opener against University of Delaware.

Stay tuned for more news on Backus’ season at Penn State.
